Karel DEMEL

Karel Demel absolvierte das Konservatorium und die Hochschule für Kunstgewerbe (Prof. Sklenáø) in Prag im Jahre 1974. Charakteristisch für sein Werk ist die markante Inspiration durch die Musik und Poesie. Er benützt eine kombinierte Technik, z. 8. Kaltnadel, Gravierung und Rouletten, oder Strichradierungen und Aquatinta. Er stellte vor allem im Ausland aus (rund 20 selbständige Ausstellungen, vorwiegend in Deutschland, Belgien und den Niederlanden und nahm an zahlreichen kollektiven Ausstellungen in der Heimat und im Ausland teil.

Karel Demel is a graduate of the Conservatoire and the Academy of Applied Art (Professor Z. SkIenáø) in Prague, where he completed his studies in 1974. His work is characterized by strong inspiration from music and poetry. He uses combined techniques, for example, the dry needle, engraving and roulette techniques, or line etching, aquatint and engraving. He has often exhibited his works, especially abroad (about 20 one-man exhibitions) - mainly in Germany, Belgium and Holland. He has taken part in a number of collective exhibitions at home and abroad.
